- Metafields: We read and write to product metafields to store COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), custom margin thresholds, and exemption status.
- Shop information: Basic store details for app configuration.
How Data Is Stored
Real-Time Margin Guard uses Shopify's native metafield system to store all COGS and threshold data. This means:
- Your data lives entirely within your Shopify store
- We do not copy your data to external databases
- If you uninstall the app, your COGS data remains in your store
- You maintain full ownership and control of your data
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Customer personal information
- Payment or credit card details
- Order history or transaction data
- Customer browsing behavior
Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Your business information is used solely to provide the margin protection functionality within your store.
Data Security
All communication between your store and our app occurs over secure HTTPS connections. We follow Shopify's security best practices and guidelines for app development.
GDPR Compliance
We comply with GDPR and Shopify's data protection requirements. Since we don't store customer data externally, data subject requests should be directed to your own store's privacy processes.
